Director's Philosophy
"Modern families come in every configuration," says Ruhi Khan, Director of Montessori Academy. "Single parents, dual-income households, freelancers, grandparents as caregivers — each family has a different rhythm. Montessori Academy has always believed that early childhood education should be accessible to all working families, not just those who can collect a child at 3 PM. That is why our three campuses open at 7 AM, close at 6 PM, and never close for summer."
The structure of your child's schedule affects their development, your family's financial planning, and their long-term academic trajectory more than most parents realize.
Traditional preschools close for 10–12 weeks every summer. Research consistently documents the "summer slide" — children regress by an average of 2–3 months of academic progress during that break. Montessori Academy's prepared environment runs 52 weeks per year. There is no regression here.
Many families begin with 3 days to ease their child in. When the child thrives — which they do — switching to full-time is a phone call, not a new enrollment process. We meet your family where you are.
The Downey campus accepts MAOF and CalWORKs subsidies for full-time enrollment. Eligible families receive premium Montessori education including language immersion, hot meals, and extended care — at little or no out-of-pocket cost.
All schedules include the full Montessori curriculum, language immersion, outdoor time, and all three campus facilities.

Call or text to book same-daySelect from Culver City, West Adams, or Downey. Then choose full-time (5 days), part-week (3 days), or half-day. We'll confirm current availability for your preferred age group and start date.
Health and immunization records, emergency contacts, and enrollment paperwork. Registration fee: $100. Enrollment deposit: $300. Forms can be completed digitally or on your tour visit.
MAOF/CalWORKs families: bring your voucher authorization letterMost children begin within 3–5 days of completing paperwork. We offer a brief settling-in period for toddlers new to group settings, with teachers trained in gentle, Montessori-aligned separation support.
Need to add days? Reduce days temporarily? Upgrade from half-day to full-time? Simply contact the campus director. Schedule changes are accommodated based on classroom availability, typically within one week.
