The Toddler Program at Montessori Academy West Adams is built around the Montessori understanding of the sensitive period — the window between ages 2 and 3 when a child's brain is most receptive to language, movement, and order. During the three-hour uninterrupted work cycle each morning, toddlers choose from a prepared environment of hands-on Montessori materials: practical life activities (pouring, spooning, folding), sensorial exploration (texture boards, sound cylinders, color tablets), and early language development through songs, picture classification, and conversation in Mandarin and Spanish.
The West Adams campus has the largest outdoor yard of all three Montessori Academy campuses — approximately 9,000 sq ft — giving toddlers exceptional space to develop gross motor skills and explore outdoor practical life activities.
The campus at 4449 W. Adams Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90016 serves families from Mid City, Leimert Park, Baldwin Hills, Crenshaw, and Jefferson Park. Campus Director Vanessa Verastegui leads a teaching team of AMS and AMI certified educators who understand that the Toddler stage is not pre-school — it is the foundation of everything that follows. What a child learns about independence, concentration, and care for the environment at age 2 shapes their entire academic trajectory.
